This is the promised sketch for
who was the first to identify a quote I hid in my comments. The price was a free sketch of the winner's choice.
The task in question was: "...anything along the lines of Christian et al surreptitiously setting fireworks off to celebrate Gundula's birthday" which pleased me a lot. I loved the idea and enjoyed drawing it very much. So much, in fact, that I'm afraid I got a little carried away. There are few opportunities to draw Gundi being scared of something, but fireworks is the one thing she absolutely loathes. So: thank you!
Another good thing about it is that Gundula's birthday is thoroughly lost in time (I think she doesn't even know herself!). We may presume that she's born under a different calendar system. Therefore she more or less celebrates at random, just picking a convenient day with good weather.
This put me in the splendid position to try out something I wanted to do all along, but couldn't because it'd break the continuity of the ongoing story. I've seen a lot of girls actually wearing polka-dot skirts recently, who wondered at my big grin when I saw them. As you might know, I try (within my limitations considering fashion) always to dress Sophie in the current fashion, and seeing that these funny, cartoony polka-dots seem to be en vogue is to me nothing short of a much appreciated invitation.
